Abstract: Kitty and her mother survived almost 20 months in Auschwitz-Birkenau together. It is quite plain that without her mother Kitty would never have survived. Kitty returned to Auschwitz with her son David. A film was made of that visit.

Ms. Hart makes you (this is not too strong) feel what it was like to be in Auschwitz-Birkeanu. She describes the smells, the degrading things one did to survive and the idiocy of the camp system.

She tells us of the terribal day that she had to put her 2 girlfriends, who by now were recovering from typhus, on the death wagon. She wanted to die together with her friends.
